At Canyon River Ranch, we understand how difficult it is to transition from our residential treatment facility into the real world. Although it’s an exiting time, it’s common for you and your teen to feel some anxiety. That’s why we offer an effective transition readiness program. Our program is designed to give students the opportunity to take the skills and abilities they have learned and apply them to the real world.
Transition Readiness Program
Many of the students start without life skills. As they stay at Canyon River Ranch, we help to teach them valuable life skills. We use moral reasoning to help students learn how to manage a variety of difficult situations. Our goal is to eliminate or reduce their stress. We also help them learn social interactions with social events to the mall, community-sponsored programs, and more.
As a parent, it’s essential to have the right tools and support so you son or daughter can feel comfortable at home. It’s common for your teen to have anxiety after treatment due to being back in their past environment and social situations. By being supportive and communicating with your child, you’ll find that they’ll return home with a positive outlook.
Plan for the Future
As part of our transition readiness program, we help students move back into the real world by ensuring that they plan for their future. We look for career opportunities and help many of our students find activities and volunteer opportunities that will help them live a happier, fulfilled life.
