Our group therapy youth will inspire them to learn new ideas, focus on listening skills, and teaching them how to speak in public. We help youth learn how to give and receive feedback, so they can help themselves and others. We focus on teaching youth necessary leadership skills and teach them how they need to respond to others when they are confronted with a stressful topic. Youth will learn how to deal with problems, and they will learn how to take those problems and help them grow. In group facilitated sessions, clients will learn that they are not alone in their difficulties as they will relate to other kids in the program that likely have similar challenges. Many of our at-risk youth have similar difficulties, similar backgrounds, and common experiences, leading to many of the issues they have been struggling to overcome.
Participating in Group Therapy
All students will have the chance to participate in group therapy sessions that are designed to help them break free of common social challenges that cause anxiety and stress. As we are located in the picturesque Ogden Canyon, students can enjoy views of nature during the sessions, which helps to relax many of the young men. We have created a comfortable facility and setting, making it easy for at-risk youth to enjoy the environment and relax while they learn from one another. Some of the things we focus on during group therapy include:
- Social skills and integration
- Anger management and expression
- Moral reasoning
- Recreational and social activities
- Teamwork and problem solving
